Instead of coming up with resolutions this year I decided to try something different. My goal is to do one random act of kindness every week and then post it on my blog. Each week I would love for you to comment and let me know about any random acts of kindness you did. I think this will be a great way to encourage others to do the same and give everyone some ideas. Once a month I will randomly draw a winner from all of the comments and the winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to my website.
This week's Random Act of Kindness - My husband and I have been living here for over a year and haven't met all of our neighbors (even though there are only 6 houses on our street). We had a big snow storm and knew that an elderly couple lived across the street and would have trouble getting around in the snow so we introduced ourselves, brought them some food, and shoveled their porch and driveway.

At the nail salon, one of the young women is pregnant. She does not have insurance and there is a bit of a language barrier. I asked her if she was seeing a doctor, no she hadn't. She is 4-5 months along. I called my OB/GYN's office and spoke with the billing department. I got all the details for her about a "cash price" and their payment plan that will cover all of her visits, plus the delivery. I explained it slowly and in detail to her. I wrote down all the numbers and got her an appointment. That was my random act of kindness for this week.
