I have always been passionate about designing and making meaningful gifts and keepsakes and was very fortunate to able to start my own business. Lauren Nicole Gifts (name after my niece) was started in 2004 and was a great way for me to have my own business, but still move around as an Army wife. My husband recently retired from the Army and we are now permanently located in Ouray, Colorado

Random Acts of Kindness - Week 2

I would love some ideas and comments about any random acts of kindness you have done recently.  Once a month I will randomly draw a winner from all of the comments and the winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to my website.

This week's Random Act of Kindness - Instead of selling it on Etsy we donated all of our fabric to a local animal shelter.  They make all kinds of crafts and sell them to raise funds and are always in need of supplies.

So I've tried to post this a few times, so I'm sorry if I "double post"...I have taken a leave from teaching, so I decided to donate my gently used teaching supplies to a local school. They were greatly appreciative! I gave them folders, rulers, calculators, dry erase boards, dry erase markers, & pencils. They loved the dry erase boards!

Here's my random act of kindness this week. I and another mother were ordering subs at Subway for our daughters' dance team. We had a long list - each sub was different. As you can imagine, it took a little while. There were two men in line behind us. One, who had not waited very long, got extremely impatient and left. We offered for the other man to go ahead of us but he declined, said he was fine. When I paid, I purchased a Subway gift card and then handed it to the man and thanked him for being so kind and patient. His reaction was priceless! He had the biggest smile and kept thanking me, and replied, "Oh man, I've always heard of these random acts of kindness but never had one happen to me!" He was thrilled and I was ever so grateful that he, along with the Subway employee, were ever so patient.
