I have always been passionate about designing and making meaningful gifts and keepsakes and was very fortunate to able to start my own business. Lauren Nicole Gifts (name after my niece) was started in 2004 and was a great way for me to have my own business, but still move around as an Army wife. My husband recently retired from the Army and we are now permanently located in Ouray, Colorado

Baby Birds

We had to cut down a dead bush in our yard over the weekend.  When we got to the bottom of the bush we found a bird's nest in the bottom branches . We took a picture of the baby birds so that we could look them up and figure out what to do with the nest and babies (there wasn't enough left of the dead bush to keep them safe).  We set them on top of another bush, but that bush isn't thick enough to keep the nest hidden and safe from the neighbor's cat).  My husband quickly built a bird house and then moved the nest inside it (we wanted to give the mom a chance to come back).  The mom came back right away and she has been coming and going during the day about every 10 to 15 minutes.
