I have always been passionate about designing and making meaningful gifts and keepsakes and was very fortunate to able to start my own business. Lauren Nicole Gifts (name after my niece) was started in 2004 and was a great way for me to have my own business, but still move around as an Army wife. My husband recently retired from the Army and we are now permanently located in Ouray, Colorado

Christmas Can Cure

Thanks to a wonderful customer I found an amazing organization today that helps families of wounded soldiers. It is called Christmas Can Cure I have been an Army Wife for almost 20 years now and I am always amazed at the kindness that people show to the military by starting organizations like these. I think the hardest part of a deployment is going through everything that happens after the deployment is over. Here is some information about the organization.

Christmas Can Cure is a 501c3 formed to give Wounded Warriors and their families the opportunity for a perfect Christmas. The Carrier family of Jackson, New Hampshire formed Christmas Can Cure with the belief that, for some, the holiday season brings out the very best in people, while in other circumstances, the pressure to provide that perfect Christmas can also bring out some of the most difficult emotions. The pressures associated with returning from service and physical recovery can make the spirit of Christmas difficult, if not impossible to embrace. By granting that family in need a perfect (hopefully white) Christmas, perhaps that sadness becomes glee, fear becomes pride, depression becomes enthusiasm, and the holiday can give them the fresh start they need in the new year. Then, just maybe, the magic of Christmas can start the healing process in their lives and perhaps Christmas Can Cure.

Thanks for sharing this organization! It really is awesome how the military community is such a support! A family bringing so many from different parts of the country...world. I am blessed to be a part of that lifestyle. Hope you are doing well!
I have not been able to blog read as much as I would like! I wanted to stop by and say thank you again for the wonderful wax seal initial pendants! I finally gave them to our girls for Christmas and they love them!

Blessings & Aloha!
