Is there gold in M & M's??

I was at Michael's yesterday buying stuff I didn't know I needed and I really needed a chocolate fix. When I went to check out I was going to buy a small bag of M & M's. They were $1.19 for the tiny bag so I put them back. They must be painting the "M&M" logo with gold because they are tracking right along with the increase in gold prices. I might be showing my age, but didn't they used to be 33 cents a bag???

I love M&Ms! But those craft stores always have their candy really expensive.

You are TOTALLY right. The did used to be $.33 a bag! I remember when my mom & I used to buy them 3 for a dollar... and sometimes on sale 4 for a dollar!

And.. I am only 24! They have raised prices SO much!!

I would NOT pay $1.19 for M&M's unless I were at the movies :)

YOu know what, they did used to be .33 cents!!! But when you want M&M's you got to have them! My problem is I am buying them to fill my sweet treat cups but am eating all of them up and have to rebuy them! Great, now I want some M&M's!!

Michael's always over charges for candy!!!
And the smaller the bag the more is costs!

That seems VERY high for a small bag of M&M's!

It is not only the M&M's - ALL of the candy has gotten expensive and have you seen the size of the Reese's cups?? My granddaughter wanted one at the checkout in the grocery store -- when we got home and she opened it --I could not believe how small they were! They are twice the price and 1/2 the size!

I think everything is more expensive these days. And, I bet the bags are smaller, too!

They're still pretty cheap at Walmart, don't know about Target. They're about 48 cents at Walmart I think (small bag anyway)

I don't remember 33cents but I do remember 50cent bags of candy. I miss that!
