I have always been passionate about designing and making meaningful gifts and keepsakes and was very fortunate to able to start my own business. Lauren Nicole Gifts (name after my niece) was started in 2004 and was a great way for me to have my own business, but still move around as an Army wife. My husband recently retired from the Army and we are now permanently located in Ouray, Colorado

Self Check out = Self Embarassment

Because I am very impatient and hate to go grocery shopping I always just buy a few things so that I can run through the self-checkout lines. I have a Love/Hate relationship with those lines. Don’t you just hate it when you screw everything up and have to wait for someone to come by and fix it. It usually happens when I am trying to look up produce and hit the wrong keys or because I accidentally “remove something from the bagging area”. Of course, what ever you do wrong is announced by the computer so that everyone can hear and just stare at you. I wish there was a wall so that no one could watch you check out!!!

hehe, I feel you on that one. I get so mad at myself when I mess up on those machines, I am usually so good at it, but when I mess up. UGH! It's humiliating because you know the person waiting beind you is in a hurry too, and is probably annoyed.

I hate that they announce what items you are purchasing especially when you are buying your sister who just had a baby some hemorrhoid cream. After that i make sure they dont yell what you are purchaing before i use them LOL

I always use self check out because I'm impatient too. I felt stupid though when I bought a basketball for my nephew's birthday...I couldn't find the barcode to scan it and when I pushed the "help" button, the clerk showed me that it was right on the ball itself...oops. durr. thank goodness that wasn't announced! haha

I hate those damn machines!!

THey have them set up so shoplifters can't get a damn thing through them, but it makes it impossible for non-shoplifters too. So annoying.

I'm convinced the bagging area is just way too sensitive -- I mean unless it weighs like 5 pounds it never registers!

I have a love hate with the self check out as well, it never registers when I put things in the bagging area!!

On a brighter note your swap package mailed today!!!

hahaha... I couldn't agree more with your "love/hate relationship". I have one of those with them as well.

Let's just say that the self checkout line is my arch enemy at the grocery store. It always seems to give me trouble. You would think I would be fine since I cashiered at BJ's when I was a teen.
