I have always been passionate about designing and making meaningful gifts and keepsakes and was very fortunate to able to start my own business. Lauren Nicole Gifts (name after my niece) was started in 2004 and was a great way for me to have my own business, but still move around as an Army wife. My husband recently retired from the Army and we are now permanently located in Ouray, Colorado

As if the beer bottles weren't enough.....

While I was at the bead show picking up supplies my husband did some more decorating (wrecking up the place). I thought the beer bottles were the end of the decorating, but my husband must have been hit with more inspiration (or a lighting bolt).

We now have a Rush poster and car license plates above the fire place (just in case I forget who my favorite band is and what the original license plates from the Anglia looked like).

We also have a regular size arcade game in the dining room now. If you are worried about how your dinner guests can entertain themselves while eating dinner just install an arcade game two feet away from your dining room table. It is all the rage! You can even buy the rebuilt ones from the 80's to give your dining room the much sought after "Retro Look", and don't forget to through in a few guitar cases.

Maybe he should be a decorator on "Trading Spaces"??

A few readers asked why we don't recycle the brown bottles. It is because the cost to transport them to the state recycling center is higher than what they get paid for them so our city recycling center won't take them any more.

Hi Denise, I can't help you with your hubby's latest lighting bolt, but I have an idea for the bottles. Why don't you paint them and give them away as gifts, or use them as decorations? I saw some painted bottles the other day that left me salivating. So I had my aunt save me some of their wine bottles and now I'm going to buy the products at Joann fabrics to paint them. The ones that I saw were painted in pastel colors, pink, blue and green and I'm telling you, they looked fabulous!

Do you think it is possible your husband and my husband could be long lost twins? My husband has a man cave in the basement and has also taken over our garage. I don't really care because I've really done whatever I wanted to the rest of the house. Well last Saturday I came home from a walk to see that he thought it was time to redecorate my front porch...he brought some of his basement furniture up!!!! OMG!!! I don't think so! And he is slowly trying to creep guitars in our second bedroom! NO!
