I am pretty much addicted to Etsy! One of my favorite Etsy shops is Jangles. The link is to her blog; she has two Etsy shops and a website. She makes amazing ceramic beads, jewelry and now she has added bags. I just bought this pencil case for a Christmas present, but I think I am going to have to keep it for myself!! Her prices are really reasonable for how much work she puts into her pieces. She hand makes and paints everything!! If you are interested in ceramics you can sign up for her newsletter. I have been getting for a long time. She sends out some really neat Christmas project ideas.

Apron Book Giveaway

We are pretty sure we are going to have to move again next year (one more move before my husband finishes his twenty year Army career), so we have been really busy cleaning out the rest of the house. Workshop Improvements

Christmas is a little too insane around here so last year I made a list of everything that drove me crazy. We have a bunch of projects to do and a lot of things to get done before the Christmas season starts. One of them was to organize my tools better. My husband made a peg board to hang above my jewelry work bench. I have a really bad habit of using a tool and then losing it. The best part is that he made the board with recycled peg board (Translation - he picked the supplies out of someone's trash!).

Is there gold in M & M's??

I was at Michael's yesterday buying stuff I didn't know I needed and I really needed a chocolate fix. When I went to check out I was going to buy a small bag of M & M's. They were $1.19 for the tiny bag so I put them back. They must be painting the "M&M" logo with gold because they are tracking right along with the increase in gold prices. I might be showing my age, but didn't they used to be 33 cents a bag???

Wrong thing to say!!!

I was in line the other day at a grocery store and I was standing behind two other people. There was a lady with two small kids and a newborn paying for her groceries. She was telling the cashier that her husband was in Iraq and how hard it has been. The guy behind her turned to me and said "that is what he signed up for". Wrong thing to say buddy!!! I really hate that special kind of ignorance. I just responded with "while he was signing up to serve his country, you must have been signing up to be a scumbag!" Some people just don't get it!!

Catalog printing Help!

Does anyone print catalogs or know of a small company that prints catalogs? I would rather buy from a small company. I would like to have catalogs printed for my wholesale customers, but I am having a hard time finding some that are good quality. They only need to be 6 to 8 pages long. I would really appreciate any suggestions!!

No Starbucks for Miles

Why is it that when you are trying to lay off caffeine you run into a Starbucks every 1/2 mile, but when you really want some coffee you can't find one anywhere??? I traveled over 60 miles yesterday to drop off some of my machines for service. I drove through several towns and couldn't find a Starbucks any where on the way. The good thing is that I did find a small family-owned coffee shop and their coffee was really good. I always try to buy from small businesses anyways so from now on I will look for the small coffee shops.

Bailey found a new friend!! I am just glad it wasn't a snapping turtle! Bailey whined a lot, but my husband still took the turtle to a pond so that it wouldn't get hit by a car.

Dumpster Diving for Charity

If you have read some of my other posts you know how much my husband loves to pick through everyone's trash. He picked up this old sewing machine out of someone's trash a while ago. He has been working on it and it now runs great (it has new cords, belts, and parts). It also has a nice wooden cabinet that he is finishing today. We are going to donate it to the assistance center that makes quilts for kids in need. I am so glad that someone else can benefit from my husband's trash picking, dumpster diving, junk collecting habits!!!

Gone Junkin'

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend! We need a few parts for the Fiat Convertible my husband bought two weeks ago. It is really hard to find certain parts for the car because it is a 1978. We tracked down some old cars this weekend and went scrounging for parts. My husband even brought a weed eater so that he could get to the old cards that were out in a field on a farm. I was happy to stay in the truck in catch up on some reading!
